Before You Plug Anything In

  • Voltage: Most modern ASICs need 200–240V. Running one on 110–120V (if it even supports it) cuts efficiency hard. Verify your outlet.
  • Dedicated circuit: A single high-power ASIC can draw 15–20A. It needs its own breaker — sharing a circuit with other appliances trips it or creates a fire risk.
  • Space and airflow: The machine pulls cold air in one side and blows hot air out the other. That hot air needs somewhere to go — not straight back into the intake.

Connect the network cable

Plug an Ethernet cable from the miner into your router or network switch. The miner needs a live network connection to get an IP address and reach the mining pool. Skip WiFi adapters — they’re unreliable for 24/7 operation.

Power on and find the IP

Turn on the machine. The fans will spin loud at first, then settle. Use your miner brand’s IP scanner tool (or check your router’s device list) to find the miner’s local IP address on your network.

Access the web interface

Type the miner’s IP address into any browser on the same network. You’ll reach the miner’s dashboard. Default logins are usually root/root or admin/admin — change the password immediately for security.

Configure your mining pool

In the Miner Configuration tab, enter your pool’s URL (stratum address), your worker name, and password. Most pools let you use x as the password. Set up at least two pools — a primary and a backup — so mining continues if one goes down.

Save, reboot, and verify

Save the configuration. The miner will restart and begin hashing. Within 10–15 minutes, the dashboard should show all hashboards active, temperatures in a safe range, and your target hashrate. Check your pool dashboard to confirm shares are being accepted.

The Most Common Setup Errors — and How to Avoid Them

One hashboard shows zero hashrate

Usually a loose power cable to that board, or the board needs reseating. Power down, check every connection, and restart. If it persists after that, the board may need inspection — that’s when a warranty and a supplier who actually supports you matters.

The miner overheats or throttles

Almost always airflow. The hot exhaust is recirculating back into the intake, the room is too warm, or dust is blocking the heatsinks. Give the machine clean cold air in and a clear path for hot air out.

The miner isn’t reaching full hashrate

Check firmware version, ambient temperature, and pool connection. A machine running hot will auto-reduce performance to protect itself. Sometimes it’s a wrong or outdated pool configuration silently losing shares.

Can’t find the miner’s IP

Confirm the Ethernet cable is live, the miner fully booted, and you’re scanning the correct network. Try your router’s connected-devices list if the brand scanner tool doesn’t find it.
