Bitcoin Hits $108K ASIC Miners — MinerKuber

Bitcoin’s New ATH: The Mining Industry Reacts

Bitcoin crossed $108,000 in May 2026, setting a new all-time high. For ASIC miners, the implications are significant — but not entirely straightforward.

The Good News: Revenue Is Up Significantly

Every dollar increase in Bitcoin’s price directly increases your daily mining revenue. At $108,000 BTC, an Antminer S21 XP Hyd (473 Th/s) generates approximately $29.10/day in revenue — nearly double what it earned when BTC was at $65,000.

For miners who bought hardware months ago and hosted consistently, this is the payoff moment. ROI periods that looked like 180+ days are now compressing toward 90 days or less.

The Complication: Difficulty Rises With Price

Bitcoin’s network difficulty adjusts every 2,016 blocks (~two weeks) to maintain a 10-minute average block time. When BTC price rises, more miners come online → more hashrate → higher difficulty → each miner earns slightly less per Th/s.

The net effect: a 60% increase in Bitcoin’s price does not translate to a 60% increase in daily revenue. Difficulty absorbs some of the gains.

Which Miners Benefit Most From $108K BTC?

The most efficient machines benefit most — they’re already profitable at lower prices, so the ATH just accelerates their ROI.

MinerEfficiencyDaily Profit at $108K*
Antminer S21 XP Hyd12 j/Th$20.47/day
WhatsMiner M60S18.8 j/Th$2.87/day
Antminer S2117.5 j/Th$3.81/day

Older machines (S19 series, pre-2023 Whatsminers) see compressed margins even at $108K — rising difficulty hits less efficient machines hardest.

Should You Buy More Hardware Now?

The classic mining dilemma: hardware prices tend to rise with Bitcoin, and difficulty increases with new machines coming online.

Our honest take: If you can host at $0.065/kWh and buy a top-efficiency machine today, the numbers are favorable. The S21 XP Hyd at $1,459 with a ~72-day payback at our hosting rate is a compelling case.

But never buy mining hardware expecting current prices to hold. Model your ROI at BTC=$70,000 and see if it still makes sense.
